HARRISBURG – Rep. Tim Twardzik’s (R-Schuylkill) bill to provide more secure health care ID badges was signed into law today by Gov. Tom Wolf. House Bill 2604 amends the Health Care Facilities Act (HCFA) requirements regarding photo identification badges in health care facilities.?

“It is a top priority to provide our health care systems with the best possible security,” said Twardzik. “This is a step in the right direction toward stricter safety measures for our health care facilities, professionals and patients.”

Act 79 of 2022 updates requirements for photo identification badges for employees of a health care facility and of an employment agency that works in health care facilities by allowing the name of the health system or the fictitious name (as registered with the Department of State) of a health care facility, health system or employment agency to be an acceptable name on a photo identification badge.?

“I am confident my bill is going to help achieve better safety regulations,” Twardzik concluded.
